Why Memory Sports?
There are world championships for virtually every physical sport like Swimming, Boxing, Foot Ball, Cricket, Hockey and Athletics and so on and on and on…
Yet there were no world championships for that most important cognitive function of all, and without which none of the others could exist – MEMORY!
World Memory Sports Council had taken up the initiative to organize Memory Sports across the Globe. In this direction, National Memory Council for India under the aegis of World Memory Sports Council is organizing the National and State memory championships every year. Memory is categorized under sports worldwide and there are memory competitions happening everywhere
around the world. As Indians we have opportunities to take part in National Memory Championships and people who live in the corresponding states can participate in State level Championships.
Mr.Dr.SRIRAM SANTOSH is the President of Tamilnadu memory sports council to have the privilege to conduct memory championship in Chennai, Tamilnadu from the year 2020.
Categories:
The National & State Memory Championships will be organized under the following categories :
- Kids: Age 12 years or under.
- Junior : Age 13 to 17 years
- Adults : Age 18 to 59 years
- Senior : Age 60 years and above
Disciplines for State Memory Championships:
- 1. Memorizing Random Words
- 2. Memorizing Speed Numbers
- 3. Memorizing Historic / Future Dates
- 4. Memorizing Binary Numbers
- 5. Memorizing Random Playing Cards
Disciplines for National Memory Championships:b
There are overall 10 disciplines for winning the Memory Championships:
- 1. Memorizing Names and Faces
- 2. Memorizing Binary Numbers
- 3. Memorizing Random Numbers
- 4. Memorizing Abstract Images
- 5. Memorizing Speed Numbers
- 6. Memorizing Historic / Future Dates
- 7. Memorizing Random Playing Cards
- 8. Memorizing Random Words
- 9. Memorizing Spoken Numbers
- 10. Memorizing Speed Cards
There will be marks allotted for each discipline. The Memory Athlete with the highest overall score of
these disciplines will be declared as the State or National Memory Champion.
Mr. Brainius isprivileged to Train children to take part in state and national, memory championships.
